USGA RULES GOVERN ALL PLAY

(Except where Local Rules Apply)

  • All golf players must register at the Pro Shop prior to playing.
  • Proper attire must be worn at all times.
  • Each golfer must have their own set of clubs to play.  If a golfer does not have clubs, we have clubs available to rent.
  • Children must be 6 years of age or older to be allowed on the golf course for playing or watching.
  • All carts must be kept at least 30 yards from greens.
  • Please observe the 90-degree rule with motorized carts.
  • PLEASE REPAIR ALL BALL MARKS AND FILL DIVOTS.

LOCAL RULES

  • All Asphalt surfaces - Free Drop.
  • Out of Bounds on Holes: 6,7,8,14,15,17 - Fence line right of fairway.
  • While playing Hole 4, Hole 7 is considered out of bounds.
  • Net frame on Hole 7 plays as an immovable obstruction (Rule 24-2) free relief if obstruction interferes with stance or swing. No replay of any shots striking the obstruction.
  • While playing Hole 18, the parking lot on the right side of the hole is considered out of bounds.
  • A ball hit into the wildflower beds is a free drop.

PACE OF PLAY

  • Always be ready to play your next shot, even when closer than other players.

GAPS BETWEEN GROUPS

  • If your group has fallen behind, a player assistant will ask you to increase your pace of play as a first warning.
  • If an entire hole opens up ahead of your group, a player assistant will assist you in moving the group forward one hole to maintain your position on the course.
  • Group position is determined by the group in front of you.
  • You should always be as close as possible to the group in front of you.
  • Do not worry about the group behind you. It is their responsibility to keep up with you.
  • Position should be: tee box, fairway, green.

LOST BALL

  • During general play, you can search a maximum of 2 minutes for a lost ball. Any ball not recovered after that time shall be declared lost and a dropped ball should be played.

The 2025 Anchorage Open will take place August 23rd & 24th.

The Anchorage Open is a Gross and Net 36 Hole Stroke Play Event. Players in each division of the 4 divisions (Women's, Women's Senior(60), Men's, Men's Senior(60) & Men's Super Senior (70)) with the lowest two-day gross score will determine the Anchorage Open Champion. The field will be flighted based on the USGA Handicap Index most current revision.  Juniors are encouraged to play and will be flighted based on their handicap.

If you have a 5.0 or below GHIN Handicap Index, you will be placed in the Championship Flight. If you have a GHIN Handicap of 5.1 - 10.0 and wish to play in the Championship Flight, please indicate this when you register. Flights will be determined by the number of players and their respective handicaps prior to play.

Golfers without GHIN Handicaps will be flighted after Round 1 based on score.

The 2024 Junior Golf Classes are geared for juniors of all skill levels. We will be offering two different camp options for different age groups:

  • Ages 6-9 $150 for 5 hours of instruction per camp (75 minutes per day)
  • Ages 10-15 $150 for 5 hours of instruction per camp (75 minutes per day)

Skills learned on the range will be applied to actual play on the course (when available). Course management and fundamentals will be stressed, reviewed and expanded upon. Rules and etiquette will be taught during every class. No clubs are needed but if students have their own they are welcome to bring them. Everything will be provided for students at class. Classes will be limited to 10 students to ensure each student is provided the best attention and development of skills.

PGA Junior League:
  •  This PGA Junior League is for Junior Golfers ages 13 & under and 14-17 years old.  It is designed for competitive Junior Golfers seeking to advance their competitive golfing skills and abilities.  The program coach is Blake Smith.

Youth on Course:

This is a program aimed at Junior golfers ages 6-18.  Allows Juniors to play at reduced rates during allotted times.

If you want to have more fun on the golf course and maybe play a little faster, TEE IT FORWARD may be just the solution for you. TEE IT FORWARD can help you play from tees best suited to your game.

This national initiative from The PGA of America and United States Golf Association is really simple:

Play forward tees. Play faster. Have more fun.

TEE IT FORWARD is great for beginning and avid golfers alike. TEE IT FORWARD can give the avid golfer a Tour Experience, allowing them to hit the same club into greens as a PGA TOUR and LPGA Tour player. TEE IT FORWARD received great feedback from golfers nationwide. Through your feedback we have found that:

  • 70% of golfers found playing more enjoyable with TEE IT FORWARD
  • 47% felt they played faster
  • 91% are likely to use it again
  • 52% stated they were likely to play golf more often knowing they could TEE IT FORWARD

"It's Okay" Rules for the Beginning Golfer:

  • It's okay to not keep score.
  • It's okay to play from the shortest tees or start at the 150 yard marker.
  • It's okay to give yourself a better lie by rolling the ball around a little.
  • It's okay to tee the ball up anywhere when you are first learning.
  • It's okay to only count swings when you make contact with the ball.
  • It's okay to throw the ball out of the bunker after one try.
  • It's okay to forget about a ball that may be lost or out of bounds.
  • It's okay to drop a ball where you think it might be...or where you wanted it to be.
  • It's okay to play a scramble with your group...scrambles are very popular.
  • It's okay to just chip and putt on a hole when you feel like it.
  • It's okay to pick up in the middle of the hole and enjoy the outdoors and scenery.
  • It's okay to skip a hole if you need to take a break.
  • It's okay to play less than 9 or 18-holes and call it a round of golf.
  • It's okay to move your ball away from trees, rocks or very hilly lies.
  • It's okay to hit the same club for the entire round, while using a putter on the putting green.
  • It's okay to play golf in your sneakers.  Be comfortable!
  • It's okay to get enthusiastic!  (High fives, fist pumps and big smiles are encouraged)
  • It's okay to talk on the golf course....enjoy a nice conversation or tell a few jokes.
  • It's okay to bring your kids to the course, whether they are 6 or 36.
  • It's okay to PLAY GOLF JUST FOR FUN!!
